IT Council Under the Auspices of Almaty Mayor

IT Council was set up in 2020, it is chaired by the Mayor of Almaty city Bakhytzhan Sagintayev.

The purpose of creating IT Council is to develop a unified policy of city digitalization, taking into account opinions and vision of business community and educational institutions.

IT Council is aimed at developing solutions for implementation of a unified digitalization policy in the interests of Almaty residents and overall city development, supporting entrepreneurship and education in the field of information technology.

IT Council structure and its members are to be approved by a special order of Almaty Mayor. Each member is elected for no more than one year, the Council composition can be updated every six months for 5-7 people, by voting by a qualified majority of Council's members (at least 50% of the votes).
